About Us
Get to know more about what makes us different.
For more than 150 years, our church family has faithfully served this community under several names, most recently First Baptist Church of Argyle. While our name has changed once again, our heart and mission remain the same. We chose the name Landmark Community Church because we believe the church should be a spiritual point of reference—a visible sign of God’s grace, truth, and hope for our community and the nations. Our name is inspired by the invitation found in Jeremiah 31:21 (NKJV): “Set up signposts, make landmarks; set your heart toward the highway, the way in which you went.”
Just as a landmark helps travelers find their way and confirms they are on the right path, Landmark Community Church exists to point people to Jesus Christ. Our mission is simple and clear: to make disciples and make a difference. We seek to live this out by being a vibrant, Biblically centered, growing, and dynamic church made up of passionate, devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
We are a family-focused church that believes discipleship begins in the home and is nurtured through the life of the church. We desire to partner with parents, equip families, and invest in the next generation so that faith is lived out daily and passed on with purpose.
Honoring the faithfulness of those who came before us, we look ahead with hope. For the sake of God’s Kingdom and the benefit of future generations, we strive to be a true landmark—making a lasting difference for the glory of God.

The mission of Landmark Community Church is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

We anchor our lives in the Word of God. In a world of shifting opinions, we stand firm on the unchanging Truth of Scripture. It is our foundation for living with integrity and purpose for the glory of God.

Discipleship
We grow to go. We are dedicated to becoming passionate, devoted followers of Jesus. We don’t just learn; we equip one another to make a difference and make disciples in our community and beyond.
Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Landmark Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Revelation
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.
The Fall
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Resurrection
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
